Long time, no blog! My life has been pretty mellow for a while so unfortunately I didn't find the motivation to continue writing on my blog. However, there have been new developments!
I have decided to make the journey back to Africa! The plan is that I will go sometime in July. I'm not sure of all of the details but I am anxious to see our sponsored family and to see how their lives have changed since we last met in 2007.
My first trip to Uganda was overwhelming-wonderful but overwhelming. You could say that I was on sensory overload...fearful of the unknown, excited, and on an emotional rollercoaster from seeing the amount of poverty and sickness.
So this trip I hope to soak it all in. My goal is to be in the moment, building relationships with the locals, spending more time observing the culture and the day to day lifestyle of the Ugandan people.
